Real estate
The sign is printed once. The listing changes every week.
A yard sign is the only piece of marketing that reaches people who were not looking. It also goes to print before the price cut, the open house and the sale. One dynamic code follows all of it, on the same board.
One code, five destinations
Same board in the ground the whole time. You change where the code points from your phone, and the next scan follows.
- 01ListedThe listing page: photos, floor plan, the enquiry form
- 02Open house weekTimes, directions and a registration form, back to the listing after
- 03Price changeThe same page, with the new number on it
- 04Under offerA short status page, plus similar properties nearby
- 05SoldA valuation form for the neighbours who just watched it sell
The week after it sells is the one agents give away
- Signs stay up for days or weeks after completion.
- A static code pointing at a removed listing serves a 404 to every neighbour who scans it.
- Those neighbours are the highest-value audience the sign will ever have.
- A dynamic code turns that dead period into a valuation lead.
Which streets actually work
Give each sign its own code and the scan counts become a map: which streets produce enquiries, which board placements earn their cost, what time of day people stop and scan.
Unique versus repeat scans matters more here than the total. Twenty scans from twenty people is a very different property to twenty scans from three.
A vendor can be given view-only access to their own property’s numbers, which is a surprisingly effective way to have a price conversation, with no ability to change anything.
Printing it so it actually scans
Size for the pavement
The working rule is 10:1. A code read from two metres needs to be about 20 cm across. A business-card-sized code on a yard sign is decoration, not a link.
Contrast holds
Dark pattern, light background, a clear margin of about four modules on all sides. Agency colors are fine as long as the dark modules stay clearly darker.
Height and weather
Put it at chest height, not at the top of the board, and test the finished panel outdoors. Gloss lamination throws glare that a desk proof never shows.
Full numbers are in the print guide, and the longer write-up for agents is in QR codes on yard signs.
Try it on one listing.
Five dynamic codes and seven days of history with no card, which is enough to run a board through listed, open house and sold before you commit to anything.
